Remarks by Ambassador Christopher R. Hill U.S. Embassy Election Celebration

November 3, 2004, 10:30 a.m.

AMBASSADOR HILL: Thank you all for coming to our Election 2004 coverage. It's a pleasure to have you here and, our anticipation is that this is going to be a very long day in following the results.

I must say, four years ago, when I did this at my Embassy in Poland, I said "And we will be here until there is a winner." (Laughter.) And you recall that took over a month. So, I can't promise you I'll be here until there is a winner. (Laughter.)

Anyway, we are very proud of our elections. I think it will be a lot of fun. And, I will just make one solid prediction, which is that the U.S.-Korean relationship is going to be just fine, whoever wins.

And just one other thing - even though I didn't mind trying to predict the World Series winner, I'm not going to predict the winner of the election.

Thank you very much.
